CUSTODY

     The concern in all custody cases is the best interests of the children. There are 16 criteria the court is to consider if the Court is to make the decision. The parties, themselves, can decide what is in the best interests of their children. These agreements can be reduced to writing and be made an Order of the Court. 

     Grandparents and even third parties, under certain circumstances, may request custody of children with success.

     The Custody statute now addresses the issue of the desired relocation of the children by one party. Compliance with the provisions and meeting the criteria set forth may determine the case.

SUPPORT

     There are many nuances to a proper determination of child and spousal support that go beyond a strict application of the guidelines set forth in the Rules. Paramount is an accurate determination of the parties' respective incomes. Knowledge of these nuances permit a proper determination of the amount of support.  Attorney Katchmer has been involved representing parties in support matters for over Thirty-five years. 

DIVORCE

     No-fault divorces have become the most economical, efficient method of acquiring a divorce. If no other issues are involved or if an agreement has been reached concerning those issues, you may never have to appear in court, saving you time, money, and emotions. 

Issues of property division, alimony and costs and fees may require resolution either by negotiation and agreement or through court proceedings. A thorough knowledge of the Divorce Code and prior court rulings and how they apply to your fact situation is paramount to achieving a fair resolution for you. AGREEMENTS

     Well drafted, thorough Prenuptial, Mid-Nuptial, and Postnuptial Agreements define and protect your interests in property and set forth whether you will receive or pay support or alimony to the other spouse.

PROTECTION FROM ABUSE

     Whether as the Plaintiff or Defendant, Protection from Abuse proceedings and Indirect Criminal Contempt charges are serious matters that can have significant ramifications for you. Safety is always the first concern. But the results can also impinge on subsequent divorce or custody matters. Experienced representation is critical.
